I recently bought two pit/boxer mix puppies. They were about 8 weeks old, absolutely adorable (I couldn't get just one. They had a good bond as brother and sister and I couldn't separate them) and they needed their vaccines/spade and neutered like every dog should. I'm a single mom and didn't want to spend an arm a leg especially since I had two. I called around talking to the vets near me and ask questions to make sure my puppies got the best care. I called Reissig's office (as a little girl I remember taking our family dog there so I wanted to see what he could do for my sweet pups) and after he answered I told him I adopted two 8 week old pit/boxer mix and needed vaccines for them. He told me he'd do the first vaccine but won't take them as a patient because he's had trouble with pitbulls in the past. I was shocked. Not only did he discriminate and believe the stigma towards pit bulls but as a veterinarian he wouldn't fully vaccinate my puppies. I even told him they were puppies, the sweetest things you'll ever meet and completely harmless. The worst they will do is nibble at you, cuddle up to you and lick your face and hands. I felt offended and felt it was very offensive especially in his line of work. They are puppies, they are harmless, and they come from a good home who will personally train them to be great dogs no matter the bread they are. He could do it for free but I'd much rather spend hundreds of dollars on a veterinarian who sees the love I see in my puppies.

So very appreciative! I called him at 8:30 at night asking advice on a friend of mine's cat. She had called multiple vets in her area (Kansas the state) and no one would help unless she was there and had money upfront which she did not have at the time. After trying to contact a few vets around Fostoria and Findlay a gentlemen answered much to my surprise I didn't think anyone would be available and he not only helped inform the two of us but put a woman and her children at ease for the beloved cat. I cannot say thank you to this vet enough. Thank you so much for your time in my call sir!

I have brought over the years our dogs and cats to Dr Reissig for shots, spaying and neutering and basic care. If you want to spend a small fortune on your pets, and you need to feel like a martyr for spending the house payment towards their medical needs - go elsewhere. If you want good no-nonsense care affordably, this is the place.

Very thankful for a good affordable vet.

Dr Gary Reissig is a great vet and very affordable but his wife is rude and unstable. Never know what her attitude will be like from day to day.
